Meet The Doctor
Dr. Austin Mitchell, also known as Dr. Austin, was born and raised in Glencoe, Alabama. He graduated from the UAB School of Dentistry in 2021 and returned to Etowah County to practice at Isbell Dental.

Dr. Austin was born and raised in Glencoe, Alabama. He is a third-generation graduate of Glencoe High School, finishing with honors in 2013. While attending high school he was a member of the football and basketball teams. Upon graduation he attended The University of Alabama on a Presidential Academic Scholarship with an invitation to become part of the Honors College. Austin graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s in Biology in 2017. He began his dental journey at The University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2017. During his four years at UAB he was a member of the American Student Dental Association and the Academy of General Dentistry. Dr. Austin graduated from UAB School of Dentistry and joined Isbell Dental in June 2021. He serves as dentist to the Etowah County Jail and routinely does charity clinic work with Remote Area Medical (RAM) and a local Baptist church. He is currently serving as VP of the 5th district of the Alabama Dental Association (ALDA). He, along with Dr. Ross, serves as a clinical instructor and Board of Advisors member to Gadsden State’s Dental Assisting education program. Dr. Austin studies extensively to provide a full range of general dental and specialty procedures. He has a passion for biomimetic dentistry with conservative treatment styles and for facial esthetics incorporating Botox and Juvéderm facial injectables.
Dr. Austin married local pediatrician Dr. Lauren Gibson on September 29, 2023. They are active members of the Gadsden campus of Church of the Highlands. When not taking care of patients, he and his wife are avid golfers and travelers.
