Dr. Gordon “Ross” Isbell IV

Meet The Doctor

Dr. Gordon Roswell Isbell IV, also know as Dr. Ross, was born and raised in Gadsden, AL and returned home to practice in Northeast Alabama after graduation from the UAB School of Dentistry and the UAB Hospital Dentistry Residency Program in 2015.

More about Dr. Gordon “Ross” Isbell IV

Dr. Ross attended Gadsden High School and participated in many organizations such as Key Club, Beta Club, and National Honor Society and was a 4-year letterman on the Soccer team. Following his graduation in 2006, he attended Washington and Lee University, where he majored in Biology and graduated in 2010. He began his career path in dentistry at UAB School of Dentistry in 2010 and graduated in 2014. During his time in dental school, Dr. Ross participated in many aspects of organized dentistry and served not only as his local American Student Dental Association Chapter President, but also served nationally on ADPAC. Following graduation, he completed a General Practice Residency at UAB Hospital and began practicing at Isbell Dental in July 2015. Since graduation, Dr. Ross has obtained an MBA degree with a Healthcare concentration from UAB. In our state Dental groups, he has served as the Chair of the New Dentist Council for the Alabama Dental Association and as President of the Alabama Academy of General Dentistry. Dr. Ross is a big believer in life-long education and is currently pursuing his Fellowship degree in the Academy of General Dentistry. Dr. Ross has been focusing his clinical education on full mouth restoration cases, especially considering implant support. He has committed a significant amount of time recently towards lobbying efforts at the state dental board for common sense regarding sedation and cosmetic injectable (Botox and dermal filler) regulations. He is also an active contributor to the efforts of the ALDA legislative affairs team. Dr. Ross is constantly learning about the newest products and trends in dental care both for use in our office and as part of his research for his dental product review column that he writes for the nationally circulated AGD Impact magazine.

In his personal life, Dr. Ross Isbell married Stephanie Williams Isbell from Homewood, AL on June 2, 2018. They have a dog named Teddy, a mini Aussie-doodle. On June 25, 2021, Dr. Ross and Stephanie welcomed their first son Gordon Roswell Isbell V “Wells”. On April 28, 2024, Dr Ross Isbell and his wife Stephanie were blessed with the birth of their second child, Rose Eliana Isbell. Both children attend the Early Learning Center (ELC) at Gadsden First United Methodist Church where they are members and regularly attend. Stephanie is a full-time mom and substitute teacher at the ELC.
